Alecia has a background in the creative arts and organisational behaviour.  She has spent 25 years working in corporate settings in organisational behaviour and behavioural change in the U.S.A, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand.  Alecia has a strong interest in the role creativity can play in the healing process and is passionate about working alongside people and witnessing personal development through creativity.  Alecia works therapeutically with clients and is able to utilise a multi-modal creative approach drawing on visual art, movement, drumming, and drama.  Alecia has worked with a wide range of clients across the Auckland region, specifically with individuals affected by Stroke, Dementia, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Autism and Cerebal Palsy.  Her experience enables her to work creatively with people who have a variety of life experiences. Alecia has been part of the Mapura team for six years and is currently the Senior Arts Therapist and Manager of Mapura’s multi-disclipinary therapeutic Stroke Programme.
