Mapura Studios has just completed a hugely successful art therapy pilot programme for the Stroke Foundation where we worked with 12 stroke affected people. The main objective was to bring about renewed purpose and motivation in participants lives whilst exploring the effect and outcome of creative processes and visual arts. The 14 week programme was devised by Suzanne Vesty who headed a team consisting of multi-disciplinary practitioners all of whom had experience in creative processes, art making and self developmental, therapeutic contexts. Following the programme, participant Kai Wong told us ‘I believe all kind of creative expression will fulfil my soul and will give me a lot of power to encourage me to move forward to my life’
