Ululau Tamatoa Fili Ama
Ululau has been attending art classes at Māpura for 7 years, and 8 years through Arohanui Special Needs School.
“I love printing, drawing painting / carving through thick layers of coloured paint.
I am happy seeing my artwork on exhibition. It feels special and beautiful framed on the walls.”
Ululau likes meeting everyone at Māpura Studios.
“ We care for each other. I am free to do what I want for art. and just love doing art and learning new art techniques, and to see different artworks by the artists.
I feel safe, I am not alone.
The art teacher’s always have time to talk to me about my art, listen to my stories, we sometimes laugh and I feel happy to see my finished artwork.

“I love creating new artworks having fun with the flow of the paint or any art material used, adding new art techniques given for my learning experiences. I love my art on exhibition. It looks very different and beautiful when framed and on the wall.
Māpura is a friendly, sociable, and safe environment. It’s a great loving space for learning art, and just loving the artworks created by all the artists.”
