Celebrating New Zealand Sign Language Week
New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Week is 5th – 11th May 2025.
The theme this year is “An Aotearoa where anyone can sign anywhere”
Our new Kids Art with NZSL started last week, and the kids created this amazing banner today, to celebrate NZSL week.
The class on Mondays at 4 – 5.30pm with deaf art tutor Monari Falepeau who takes the classes in NZSL, with an NZSL interpreter.
Artists try a a wide variety of fun and creative things such as painting, fashion design, print making, clay modelling and more!

Monari also teaches in our open Studio Two classes on a Tuesday afternoon. Our Open Studio classes are dynamic learning environments allowing artists to develop their creative skills and art activities. Tuesdays are particularly suitable for deaf artists, as we have NZSL Interpreters and Deaf Tutor in Open Studio Two.
