Description
Russell Julian
Russell Julian has been with Māpura since 2007.
Russell’s been drawing letters with paint and ink on a piece of curved wood. It’s been a project that was interrupted by covid. It was inspired by a visit to a farm and the animals he saw. Russell is a thinker and provokes a considered response in his artwork.
Russell currently attends Open Studio One, on Monday morning, and Becoming an Artist on Tuesday morning. Russell may join Movement and Art and the singing class. Māpura Studios is an integral part of his life. He loves singing and has an amazing memory for names and dates.
The artist hopes to exhibit his work again this year. Previously Russell has shown his artwork at the Pah Homestead, Studio One, Bruce Mason Centre, Roar Gallery and Mairangi Bay Arts Centre – to name a few.
Russel likes the people in the classes, and loves being part of Māpura Studios
