Teens Creative Therapy
The Teens Creative Therapy programme is specially designed for young people, ages 12 – 17, who want to connect with their peers while making art.
The focus of this art therapy group is socialisation through engagement in a group setting.
Belonging to a group is very important to youth. The art therapist encourages communication and discussion about the everyday life of a teenager, and together with the art tutor, will provide the participants with the confidence and social skills to apply outside the studio.
Creative skills are also a focus. Common themes are explored as subject matter for making art and this often results in innovative ideas and creations.
A supportive and safe environment is provided for the participants to enable them to form sound and healthy relationships. They are encouraged and guided in how to share and explore their creative ideas – so conversation and creative interaction between group members takes place.
Teens Creative Therapy is tailored to the individual needs and abilities of each person in the group.
