Raise Your Voices
Charity Auction
Māpura artist Ululau Ama was invited to design a painting for ASB Polyfest – the Auckland Secondary Schools Maori and Pacific Islands Cultural Festival, held in March 2023.
Ululau took the title, Raise Your Voices, and decided what it meant for him. He created six different drawings on canvas that could be painted and filled in by festival attendees, making the finished work a collaborative effort.
There were thousands of secondary school students from throughout Tāmaki Makaurau at Polyfest and Ululau’s painting proved to be a drawcard as they were excited about adding their voice to this unique artwork.
The total proceeds from the auction of Raise Your Voices will go towards flood relief. Māpura Studios, and Ululau Ama, would very much like to help communities affected by the January 2023 floods and Cyclone Gabrielle.
